This colorful, yet earthy nursery is a blending of Mom and Dad’s vision to bring a feminine touch to a woodland vision. The space itself is feels cozy, with the wood flooring and an earthy-green accent wall. There are dried flowers everywhere, arranged in tiny bouquets and resting in beautifully colored glass vases.
Bringing greens into any space gives a touch of nature and peace, but adding this to your nursery is a must for nature and woodland vibes. If you are hesitant about dirt, or testing your green thumb, there are wonderful varieties of fake plants out there and most people will not be able to tell the difference, I promise.
In most cities, maximizing natural light can be a challenge with urban structures blocking the sun, especially in Philadelphia or other east coast cities. Moving through the seasonal living in the Mid-Atlantic calls for creativity when trying to brighten gloomy, overcast winter days.
Comfort for feeding, nursing, soothing and playing is always something to keep in mind when building your nursery and space. Bring other furniture or items that you have around your house if you are having trouble finding the perfect rocker. Sometimes thinking outside the “nursery” or “baby” box can help add diversity and unexpected elements to your child’s room.
The neutral colored wall near the changing station allows the light to bounce into the room, making it feel bigger and adding some brightness. If the summer light becomes too much, this Mama chose a dark, black out curtain to drape over the windows, leaving the diffused curtain light for more cloudy days.
