Is there anything sweeter than welcoming a new baby into the family?! I think a Mother’s heart explodes ten times over when her children love-up on their new baby sister or brother. And I know my heart explodes ten times over when I am invited into see those moments.
When families choose The Motherhood Experience, it gives me the time and space to create a story, a cohesive flow. I want the images to feel connected and feel like they belong with each other. In-home photography is the best way to thread these two chapters together. This is the space where your family grows and lives each day. These are the couches you snuggle on and the rooms that hold your life. I find there is an intimacy among families that can only be seen and felt when they are in their home.
Maternity is a time of waiting. A quiet time of anticipation. For some families the struggle to get to this point can be long and emotional, for others it happens so quickly. Whatever your path, you are here. You did it. And that is something to be celebrated and remembered. I like bellies, I like hands on bellies, I like skin, I like sexy maternity vibes!! Because you are, in fact, sexy!!!
This in-home maternity session had very low light, and no fancy props. I used sheets to diffuse the light and brought my FAVORITE neutral Free People Kimono- it has movement, texture, fits everyone and is soooooo wonderful to photograph. Because this Horsham Family lived super close to one of my favorite outdoor locations in Pennsylvania, we eventually took the crew over there for some Family Photography images, but the indoor Motherhood Experience of Maternity and Newborn together is what we were looking for.
When the waiting was over and this baby was officially in her home, our Newborn Session was photographed in the exact same places! The master bedroom, the plant covered foyer and the living room couch. Nothing fancy, just the connection, adoration and love among them, fur baby always included.
