Inspo for Woodland Themed Nursery | Philadelphia, PA

Woodland Inspired Nursery

One of the unexpected perks of being a natural newborn photographer and traveling to my client’s homes is the creativity and thought I am able to see when it comes to new nurseries. Whether you have everything ready during the first trimester or you are waiting for maternity leave, there are endless resources and ideas from other Mamas to help make your nursery a space you love.

The nursery for this month features a mature, woodland theme with some traditional elements. This family wanted the room to grow with their son, which is why the decor has a timeless, natural feel to it. The accent wall is real wall paper, a mural from Etsy. Though the colors and layers are subtle, the wall sets the tone for the rest of the room. Tiny traditional accents around the space are seen in the hardware of the furniture, the curtain rods and lighting fixtures.

“I really wanted this room to not be a ‘baby room’ but a child’s room that a baby just happens to be in. I wanted strong, mature pieces with whimsical touches.” -K.G.

Because the nursery was designed to last past the infant years, the size and durability of the crib mattered. This crib was purchased at Restoration Hardware and was the biggest investment of the nursery!

Aside from the crib, most of the other features in the nursery were found on Facebook Marketplace. The furniture was restored by a local business in the Philadelphia area, to match the colors and tones of the walls. The natural greens, navy and grey’s allow the accents around the room to stand out and give this Philadelphia family a modern, woodland theme for their baby boy.

Each month I will feature a local Philadelphia family to share the inspo behind their nursery. If you are looking to a hire a newborn photographer in the Philadelphia area and you have a nursery you are proud of, be sure to mention that you would like some photos of the interior of the nursery as well. Tell your photographer what is important to you, so you can get capture photos that bring you back to this time in your life.
