Yes. You can wear sweats and be comfy for your newborn session. Your images should feel like you! This is your session to do as you please. Whether that is a dress, casual, neutral, skin on skin or the most colorful palette. Fishtown is known for artsy, funky, colorful and real Philly vibes. This new mom and dad wanted to show case their collection of color and fun with their fun newborn shoot in Fishtown.
Painted murals adorned nearly every wall. A painted kitchen ceiling. There was wall paper up in every nook and cranny with mismatching frames and art from all over the world. She shared:
“Just to let you know… I am going real casual.”
Many clients do not feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. That is why I bring personality, music and laidback approach to my in-home sessions. But to help with the process, I ask my families to come as they are, wearing their own clothes and feeling good in their own space.
Part of the phone consultation before our shoot is talk about the flow of our session. This way we can get on the same page with what to expect and how to prepare. By talking, I can field any questions you have about newborn photography. You can also share any apprehensions you might or how we can make everyone, Moms, Dads, Kids and Furbabies, as comfortable as possible.
This is hands down my most colorful and fun newborn shoot. Each stair case was a new world, each room was popping with personalty. It was a pleasure to be in their home and capture their new baby in a real way.
