At home maternity photography can feel a bit “what are we going to do?”.
Simplicity is the undertone of our time together.
Capturing this window of time can be very personal. For that reason, a phone consultation will help us create and curate a session that means something to you and your family. Here are a few questions I like to ask:
Firstly, how do you spend together as a family/partnership? Are you home bodies? Do you like to dance? Spend a lot of time outdoors? Read or cook together?
Another important question asks if there is anything you would like to share about your pregnancy journey.
Lastly, is there a location that means something special to you? A place you like to walk, a cafe you like to visit or a place you got engagement?
If possible with weather, time and availability, I like to offer an indoor/outdoor combination for maternity photography sessions. This way, you get the the best of both worlds. The indoor lifestyle photography gives a glimpse to the love and warmth of your home and family. Also, this is where most people feel comfortable for bare bellies out and cuddling. Calvin Klein inspired maternity photos feel more intimate when you are in your own home.
Indoor maternity photos will also help the story of your birth journey when paired with your natural newborn session.

The outdoor portion is where you can add some more diversity to your image gallery. You can head to your local florist or head to the bakery. Another good idea is to go for a walk around your neighborhood or be in nature. Creating something like this in your maternity session will add movement and a flare that feels like you.
