I'm Steph, Philadelphia's Natural Newborn Photographer serving young families and expecting Mother's in Bucks County, the Main Line and Philadelphia areas.
These are lifestyle photos, using natural light, guided prompts and natural engagement among the people you love to create modern and unexpected portraits for your family.
My sessions are child-led as we capture the feeling of this time in a natural, organic way.
There is a way to take your own, beautiful maternity self portraits at home with your phone. Tell the story of your growing belly for you. Sometimes things are just for you. Not to be displayed in your home and not to be shared with the masses. Sometimes documenting your own life is a treasure that you do for future you.
Maternity photos are a way to show what life has been and what you are waiting for, in a natural, intimate way. We start with lifestyle maternity photography in your home, on the porch, or around the yard. Siblings and pets are around and we are collecting slices of your life as it is. The second part of our in home maternity photo session, we show off your belly and get lots of skin on skin. This is time for woman to feel sexy, celebrated and loved by their partner.
There is not a right or wrong time to photograph growing bellies. So much depends on how fast you are showing, how you are feeling physically and emotionally, and what protocol your health care practitioners have suggested for you. Generally speaking the 27-33 week window has been a common time for mothers to have a belly to show off, but still feel comfortable and free to move around.
The newborn photography window will change depending on who you ask. For the type of work I do, the first 6 weeks of life, to me, are considered newborn. Here is what to expect during the three phases of this time period:
When families choose The Motherhood Experience, it gives me the time and space to create a story, a cohesive flow. I want the images to feel connected and feel like they belong with each other. In-home photography is the best way to thread these two chapters together. This is the space where your family grows and lives each day.
