Spring is just around the corner and many clients are already looking to book their spring family photography session. If you know that spring family photos is something you want to do this year, then make it a priority by putting it in your calendar now. With after school activities, spring trips and gearing up for the summer, Memorial Day Weekend will be here before you know it.

Do not worry about finding the location, that is my job!  I have a handful of favorites places to photograph, in Bucks County, Philadelphia and on the Main Line.  For outdoor sessions we explore fields, water, nature.  We can gather flowers and roll around in the grass.  Lifestyle outdoor photography sessions give you the space to play and create new memories with your family.  Think of it more as an evening spent together than a photography session.

Think of your photography session as an evening enjoyed together, exploring and spending time together as a family. And when you live just outside of Philadelphia on the Main Line you are blessed with greenery all around, gardens to explore and wild nature to play in.

Here are a few tips that have saved me when in bright sun before I take the picture and after I take the picture.  You have a few opportunities to get it right before you bail and turn the entire image into black and white.  I think pool side and beach vacations are the best time to practice.

Summertime with children can be tricky and sometimes it nice to have a few ideas up your sleeve for a beautiful morning or a restless afternoon. Though there are endless places to take the family, (no seriously…there are!! Checkout Philadelphiia’s Garden Passport for every detail you need to know), I tend to be very picky when it comes to exploring nature with children. 

Be cognizant of your footwear. I am team barefoot- I want toes in the grass and dancing in the dirt, but I understand that is not for everyone. Though I do prefer a more casual, natural look, many clients like to wear shoes. Please be mindful of where we are photographing. When walking trails and playing near water, footwear can be a bit tricky- we can always carry your shoes, or kick them off when needed.
